Looking for Traffic Control Flaggers:

Positions Opened Immediately

We are looking to hire a Washington State Certified dedicated, observant Flagger to monitor, control and direct the flow of traffic around road construction sites using sign, hand, and flag signals. The Flagger’s responsibilities include informing motorists of possible detour routes, understand, and apply safe traffic control practices and when necessary be able to direct emergency vehicles safely through construction zones as required.

To be successful as a Flagger, you should have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team as safety is our highest priority. A great Flagger should demonstrate excellent knowledge of state traffic regulations as well as have exceptional observation skills.

Flagger Responsibilities:

* Using hand signals, paddle, and direction signs to direct traffic around road construction sites.

* Communicate with other flaggers using hand-held radios to direct two-way radio traffic onto a single lane.

* Inform the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety.

* Appropriately positioning warning and detour signs around construction sites.

* Setting up advanced warning signs, barricades, and traffic cones along construction sites to cordon off work zones.

* Assist in removing all signs, barricades, and traffic cones upon completion of construction work.

* Assisting the construction crew in the removal of debris and hazardous materials.

* Attend regularly scheduled safety team meeting prior to work.

Flagger Requirements:

· Must be at least 18 years old

· Have or willing to obtain a Washington State Traffic Control Flagger certification

· Have a valid driver’s license

· Ability to stand for extended periods of time

· Ability to lift and carry 10lbs (30lbs on occasion)

· Effective communication skills

· Ability to work as part of a team and to work in harsh weather conditions

Pay Rate: Starts at $19.00- $24.00 ( Medical / Dental /Vision Plans) 401K Plan

Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00AM – 6PM (must be available for overtime if necessary)

Hours are not guaranteed and can vary.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

· Valid driver’s license required.

· Ability to stand for 8-12 hours a day and lift 50-60 lbs.

· Willingness to work in various weather conditions and traffic settings.

· Experience driving.

· Must pass pre-employment screenings, including a drug test as this is a safety sensitive role

 Must have Washington State flagger certification.

Additional Information

What We Offer:

· Pay: This position is part of a local union, which will determine your job title and corresponding pay based on union agreements.

  • Apprentice pay scale: $23.44 – $39.85
  • Journeymen pay scale: $43.88 - $46.53 

Competitive Pay: Based on experience, overtime opportunities, guaranteed pay increase within the first year.

All compensation and job classifications are subject to the union’s established guidelines and negotiated contracts.

· Rapid Advancement: Potential opportunities to progress to Senior Protector in just 4 months, with further growth potential to Lead Protector, Field Supervisor, or Manager roles.

· Comprehensive Training: Paid, on-the-job training including ATSSA certification and defensive driving, with ongoing professional development.
