AWP Safety Featured in Work Truck for NWZAW

In the News, April 23, 2024

In observation of National Work Zone Awareness Week, many industry leaders, organizations and publications helped bring awareness to the critical nature of safety in the work zone. During the week of safety focus, Work Truck featured AWP Safety as a champion of promoting safer work zones, and highlighted some of our key traffic safety services.

AWP Safety was recognized for our approach to safety, and the innovative technologies we leverage, including automated flagger assistance devices (AFADs), smart traffic cones, and intelligent transportation systems. Beyond advanced technology equipment being used in the work zone, we are also dedicated to improving safety through technological advancements in our work flow and operations – all at the benefit of safety. The use of Samsara in-cab telematics across AWP Safety’s vehicle fleet helps to identify driver behavior improvement opportunities, records incidents outside of the driver’s responsibility, and enables work zone video surveillance, while helping to optimize fleet operations.

“Digital transformation is also set to empower our field teams with the tools and reporting systems necessary for optimizing job scheduling and staffing. It’s about working smarter and safer on the ground,” explains Mark Ludewig, AWP’s vice president of safety.

In addition to utilizing innovative tools in and around the work zone, AWP Safety is dedicated to collecting and leveraging data to improve safety for all of us. By gathering and analyzing information from work zones across the nation, AWP Safety hopes to continue to improve traffic control services, becoming more proactive than reactive, and fostering safer and more efficient projects.
