Hurricane Recovery: Thank You, Storm Crews

In the News, Team AWP, October 18, 2024

Storm Work winds down in Carolinas, Georgia, Florida

For more than 3 weeks, AWP Safety crews have worked around the clock alongside our customer partners during Hurricane Helene and Milton recovery efforts. Between the storms, nearly 7 million people lost power, while downed trees and flood damage blocked roads.

AWP Safety customers like FP&L, Duke and Carolina Power relied on our crews to protect them as they worked to restore power. Our teams travelled from more than 11 states to provide support for local offices, and the dedication was evident to our customers. Many other resources were not available at the time, but AWP Safety came through.

“We ensured we were always available to answer the call,” says Florida General Manager Bobby Fowler. “Customers like FP&L were relieved we had people available.”

The storm recovery work in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida will continue. We are grateful for the more than 1,000 team members who dedicated their time and expertise to keeping our crews, communities and customers safe in the South.
