ENHANCES WORK ZONE SAFETY AND SERVICE TO KENTUCKY UTILITIES AND CONTRACTORS

(Kent, Ohio) May 15, 2017 – Area Wide Protective, a leading provider of temporary traffic control services, announces its acquisition of Kentuckiana Traffic & Patrol Services located in Louisville, Kentucky. The acquisition is AWP’s fourth in just 18 months. Earlier acquisitions include companies in Texas, Georgia, and Connecticut.

AWP now provides work zone design, flagging services, equipment rental and other traffic control services to new and existing Kentuckiana customers, including major utilities, municipalities, contractors, and special event coordinators in need of comprehensive, safety-driven, traffic control management.

“Kentuckiana has established itself as a reputable company with strong management practices that complement AWP’s commitment to safety and exceptional customer service,” said John Sypek, President and CEO of AWP.  “The Kentuckiana team is a welcomed addition to our growing operations. It will be instrumental in our collaborative focus to serve major utility customers, and to expand our best-in-class traffic control services to Louisville and surrounding communities”

Customers of both companies will begin seeing the advantages of increased service offerings and expanded geographic coverage derived from the acquisition in the coming weeks and months.

“Our reliable operations, technological innovations, and transparent partnerships with customers keep us in demand. Building upon our existing presence in Kentucky further broadens our ability to offer safe, professional traffic control services to new and existing customers,” said John Sypek, President and CEO of AWP.

AWP’s latest acquisition comes on the heels of a recent company expansion in Southwest Texas and the opening of new operations in the state of Delaware.
